In a notable collaboration, the Fay Rural Community Foundation (FRCF), in partnership with Fay Ranches’ agent RJ Patterson, has come together to champion the well-being of athletes at Fergus High School in Lewistown, Montana. This joint initiative focuses on introducing state-of-the-art hydration stations within the school premises, specifically tailored to meet the needs of athletic teams such as basketball and volleyball. These stations aim to promote hydration and contribute to a healthier and more environmentally conscious atmosphere for the entire school community.

Nestled in the heart of Montana, Lewistown is a charming city with a rich history, home to approximately 5,800 residents. Founded in 1883 with the arrival of the first railroad, the city’s roots are deeply intertwined with agriculture, showcasing a landscape surrounded by the majestic Big Snowy Mountains and Judith Mountains.

Recognizing the importance of proper hydration in enhancing student-athlete performance, FRCF and RJ Patterson have taken a proactive step toward addressing this crucial aspect of well-being. Dehydration can impact focus, energy levels, and overall athletic performance. With hydration stations strategically placed for accessibility during athletic competitions, students at Fergus High School will have ready access to a convenient and sustainable water source and, when needed, specialized fluids to support their performance on the court or field.

Hydration stations, innovative devices designed for seamless and eco-friendly hydration, are typically connected to main water supplies and equipped with advanced features such as filters, drinking fountains, and water-filling outlets. These stations go beyond the traditional water fountain, providing a comprehensive solution to meet the specific hydration needs of student-athletes and staff during intense physical activities.

Susan Ferrin, Executive Director of Fay Rural Community Foundation, emphasizes, “The introduction of hydration stations is more than just addressing thirst; it’s a commitment to fostering a healthier and more viable environment for our student-athletes. Proper hydration is fundamental to their health and performance, and this initiative is a proactive step towards meeting those needs. We hope to inspire other communities to prioritize the holistic development of their youth. Together, we are building a foundation for a future where every student-athlete has the resources they need for success.”

The collaboration between Fay Rural Community Foundation and RJ Patterson underscores the power of community-driven initiatives. By combining resources and expertise, these partners address a specific need within Fergus High School and set an inspiring example for other communities. Their shared commitment to the health and success of the next generation is a testament to the strength of community bonds.
