We’re thrilled to share some good news with our Fay Rural Community Foundation family. Wells Fargo has awarded FRCF a $30,000 grant to fund trade school scholarships for students from rural communities.
This gift goes straight to work helping young people build careers in the skilled trades our communities depend on. Electricians, welders, diesel technicians, line workers, and so many others keep our towns running, our ranches operating, and our local economies strong. Too often, the cost of training stands between a hardworking student and that future. Grants like this one help close that gap.
“When a rural student gets the chance to learn a trade, it changes more than one life. It strengthens a family, a business, and often an entire town. We’re so grateful to Wells Fargo for investing in these students and in the communities they will go on to serve.” Susan Ferrin, Executive Director, Fay Rural Community Foundation
“Wells Fargo is proud to support trade school scholarships that create pathways to meaningful careers for rural students,” said Maggie Madrigal, Commercial Banking Leader. “Skilled trades are essential to the strength and vitality of rural communities, and we are honored to partner with the Fay Rural Community Foundation to help students access the training and opportunities they need to succeed and give back to their hometowns.”
Why it matters:
Rural students bring grit, work ethic, and a deep connection to where they come from. When they have the chance to train in a trade, they often return home ready to fill hard-to-staff jobs and invest in the places that raised them. This year, FRCF awarded scholarships to six students, and with support from partners like Wells Fargo, we’re working toward our goal of raising $1 million to reach many more.
